With all the recent talk about "pink slime" I came across this website buried in an article and found a few other interesting articles including
this one about treats at school for birthdays. I admit to a cringe when E's 2nd grade newsletter comes home with all of the month's birthdays. It usually means an enormous, hydrogenated, food-colored, sugar ball is passed out to each of his classmates.
